Kathryn joined Advanced Sales in 2010. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in Sociology and her law degree from Western New England University. Kathryn began her career as a financial advisor for American Express Financial Advisors prior to coming to MassMutual as well as working for the US Attorney’s office in Springfield during law school.

 

Kathryn spent a year away from MassMutual in private practice in a large Springfield MA firm, practicing in the areas of estate planning, business succession planning, and entrepreneurial law, including formation of legal entities, transition of business interests, advising existing businesses, and drafting estate plans for individuals and families.  She rejoined Advanced Sales in the summer of 2018.

 

Kathryn is a member of both the Pioneer Valley and Hampden County Estate Planning Councils and is a frequent volunteer at the Hampden County Probate Court‘s lawyer for a day program.  Kathryn serves on the Advisory Committee for It Takes a Village, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping young families in Western MA.  She also is the registrar, fundraising chair, a board member and soccer coach for Belchertown Soccer Club.  She is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Course Description:

This CE classroom presentation will focus on providing new producers with education on basic estate, life insurance and business planning techniques and the ability to identify common planning mistakes within their client’s estate plan. This course examines ways to correct these mistakes, thus helping the client achieve their goals and objectives.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Attendees will review basic Estate Planning concepts.

  2. Attendees will learn about Life Insurance planning mistakes and how they affect Estate Planning.

  3. Attendees will review taxation mistakes made with Estate Planning.
